How to find the CIN number of a company
The search can be started from the name of the company, from a CIN which is already with you, or from the PAN or the GST number. All these records are drawn from the public master data of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
The CIN of any company registered in India can be found on this page in three ways. If you know the name of the company, then simply enter the name in the search box above. If you already have the CIN and you want to check it, then paste the same. And if only the PAN or the GST number of the company is available with you, then enter that and the CIN will be traced from it.

In case you have received a CIN on an invoice, an agreement or a letterhead and you want to verify the same, then paste the complete 21 digits CIN in the search box. If the CIN is genuine then the official record of that company will open. Also check that the status of the company is Active. If nothing comes in the result, then the CIN is either wrong or it does not belong to any registered company.

CIN means Corporate Identification Number. It is a 21 digits alpha numeric code which the Registrar of Companies (ROC) allots to every company at the time of incorporation. In simple words, it is the registration number of the company. The six parts shown above are the listing status, the industry (NIC code), the state, the year of incorporation, the class of the company and the registration number allotted by the ROC. Find the CIN number from a PAN or GST number
The MCA registry cannot be searched by PAN or GSTIN directly, but the CIN can still be traced. Here is how it works.
Many times only the PAN or the GST number of a vendor or a customer is available with us. The MCA registry can be searched by the name or the CIN only and not by these numbers. But there is a way. The 15 digits GST number contains the PAN of the company from the 3rd character to the 12th character. And the PAN is linked with the legal name of the company in the GST records.
So in case a PAN or a GST number is entered in the search box above, the legal name of the company gets picked up from the GST records first, and the same name is then matched with the MCA register.
